You Can!

You Can Girl are three words that I read across the front of my baby girls’ t-shirt as I was picking out her clothes this morning. Sometimes fear will come creeping into our minds that we do not have the ability to do the things that God calls us to do. But that is far from the truth, because as I was reading “The Parable of the Talents,” the word “according to his ability” popped out.

Mathew 25:15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away (ESV).

The master gave to them according to their ability. If God gives you talents and a job - He knows that you have the ability to achieve that job. He gives according to each of our ability.

And sometimes I know I can be like, “God, you want me to do what?” And I run and hide out in fear, because I simple don’t think that I am capable of doing it or it's outside my box and I don't want to do it (Reminds me of Jonah).

In the end, two out of the three guys used the talents that were given to them and came back with more talents. The two guys were faithful over little and were given more and they got to enter into the joy of their master. The guy who hid his talent in the ground didn’t have a very good outcome.

I love what someone told me recently, “I will pray that God gives me what I need to accomplish my job for the day and He has always given me what I needed.” God gives us the ability, it brings joy and if we are faithful over little, we will be given more. Don’t hide your talents and calling away thinking you don’t have the ability, because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). You can!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for this spark in my life today! I know You give me the ability to use my talents. Please give me what I need to accomplish what you call me to do. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
