It is almost one of my favorite times of the year – spring! This is the time of year that I start preparing for my vegetable garden – making sure I have everything I need to build and grow vegetables. I am preparing!
Taking a look at chapter 5 of 1 Kings, Solomon was making preparations for building the temple that God said he would build. 1 Kings 5:5 “I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the Lord my God, as the Lord told my father David, when he said, ‘Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name (NIV).'" Solomon began making preparations for the building of the temple.
We also go through preparations in our life. God may be preparing you for a new job, preparing you for a promotion, preparing you to marry your future spouse, preparing you to be a mom or a dad, preparing you for college, preparing you to buy a home, preparing you to open a business, etc. There are so many things we prepare for and the Word of God is a great place to learn and help us to prepare for things in our life.
God will give us the knowledge to prepare us for what is up ahead, we need to ask Him for the wisdom to help us prepare for our next steps. He is the best person to ask to help guide us in life - to the right people, to the right places or give us the right tools in planning our next steps. James 1:5 says If any lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you (NIV).
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we can come to You and ask for wisdom and You will give it to us. I pray for wisdom today as I prepare for my next steps. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
