My morning prayer use to be it for the day, and over time, God has shown me just how important it is to pray to Him continually. I need Him throughout my day. I have to remind myself this daily – to pray often!
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually (NIV)
It may be half-way through the day and something arises – pray!
Someone may post on social media a prayer request – pray!
You are running late for work and traffic is backed up – pray!
You procrastinated – pray!
You are low on energy – pray!
Your son or daughter text and says they have a test next hour – pray!
You need healing – pray!
You need peace – pray!
Someone says something bad about you – pray!
You don’t know what to do – pray!
You need wisdom – pray!
You desire one more bite of that brownie while on a health kick – pray!
You’re feeling bitter – pray!
You want to see change – pray!
You want to give praise – pray!
You want to give up – pray!
You are feeling anxious – pray!
You do not want to get out of bed – pray!
Eventually, you will find yourself praying all the time! God has the ability to answer our prayers - prayer changes things. Pray things more than once. I have learned it does not have to be an elaborate long, drawn-out prayer. Wisper a quick sentence to God or speak it in your head while you are at work. And some prayers need a continual asking like my child who never stops asking until I tell her yes. Pray all the time!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being sovereign! I pray I will learn to come to You about everything. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
