Not By My Strength but By Jesus’

Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus (NIV).

God can take an ordinary, uneducated person and use them to do incredible things! He can give us courage to do things in which He calls us to do - like speaking out about our faith just as Peter and John were doing. Peter had been filled with the Holy Spirit as Acts 4:8 says. The Holy Spirit came to live in us as our helper when we accepted Jesus into our hearts. He is at work in us! Notice in this verse it says they took note the men had been with Jesus. It does not happen by my strength, but by Jesus’.

Getting in alignment with Jesus and willing to let Him be in control of our life, He can do incredible things in and through us! Ordinary doesn’t look so ordinary, uneducated doesn’t look so uneducated and defeat looks like victory! Why? Because when we can let go and let God do what He wants to do and can do, we see the miracles in our life. It is the power of Jesus! Jesus has the power, not us.

Remember what Jesus said. With man it’s impossible, but with God all things are possible (Mathew 19:26). I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit. I pray that I can move out of the way, so that you can have Your way. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
