We pushed back our sofa against a wall to make more room in our living room. I was like wow; how come we have not done this before? It was like a blessing in disguise, because it made a whole lot more room! And Right above that sofa is a big sign that says blessed.
I am so thankful for God’s blessings! It was not this big elaborate blessing; it was something simple and small that made me smile. Don’t get me wrong, I love when God does big things in my life, but I do not want to miss the small things that He does either. I want to make room in my life for all of God’s blessing, the big ones and the small ones.
Jesus tells us about blessings and woes in Luke 6:20-22 Looking at the disciples, He said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man (NIV).
The whole time Jesus was on earth, the Pharisees were too busy trying to find a way to accuse Him that they missed the blessings that God wanted to give them in their life.
It is because of Jesus that we are blessed! He is the One who blesses us with favor, freedom, joy, peace, love, grace, health, provisions, etc. This list is endless! The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us (NIV). There are blessings right in front of us when we are looking. God wants to make more room in our life for His blessings, but we must make room in our life to see His blessings!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing me! I pray I will make room for Your blessings and count the blessings that are right in front of me! I am so grateful and thankful! To You be the glory! In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
