I happened to glance over at the clock the other day and it read 10:10. Immediately, the verse John 10:10 came to mind – the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Satan would like nothing more than to contribute to our fears, anxiety, worries, our sorrowful times. To get us wrestling in our thoughts with worry, anxiety or feeling like God is absent in our time of trouble. It is an easy access for him to try and win to us losing all hope and trust in God.
In Psalm 13, David had enemies after him and David was searching for God in his sorrow, wrestling in his thoughts. He said give me light to my eyes. And in the last verses of this Psalm, he was praising and trusting in God even in his sorrow.
David wrote in Psalms 13:3 Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give me light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death.
After reading this Psalm, it reminded me of this grape plant that I have had for a few years now, and the last couple of years it has looked dead. Just when I decide I am going to throw it out and replant, I see a glimpse of hope – a light that it is still alive! Do not lose the hope in your sorrowful times, when you think Jesus is not there in the midst of your troubles. Jesus gives light to our eyes. He is always with us. To think that He is not is simply a lie from the enemy.
I also hope that any time you look at the clock and it says 10:10 that the verse John 10:10 comes to mind and you are reminded of the hope that we have even though there is an enemy thrashing around, working overtime. Memorizing Scripture is so good for us, so that we can stand firm on God’s Word. Keep praising Jesus for He is our light!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being a light in our life. I praise You for You are good! I pray that You will give light to my eyes. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
