Grace is a beautiful thing that God showers us with everyday. I was having a moment of feeling like a failure and I had this great conversation with one of my family members, who is an amazing mentor to me. She said, “When I feel like that, I am reminded of God’s grace that showers over us.” She sent me the picture you see in this devotional. The fireworks display looks like it is showering down over the people as it goes off in the air. God knows that we are not perfect people, and he pours out His loving grace on us.
Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (NIV).
I need God all the more because I am a weak person in many ways. He gives us the strength to run when we are weary, the skills to tackle a job, the love to be kind to another person, the peace to calm us down when we are faced with anxiety. He is so good to give us grace to help us through this imperfect life.
We can be so hard on ourselves when we fail at something in life, or hard on someone else for their failures, and we have this loving God who looks at us and says, “My grace is sufficient for you.” So, if you are feeling this way today, know there is a God who loves you. He showers us with more grace than we deserve, but that is how loving He is to us. He can make us strong in our weaknesses, and do for us what we are not able to do on our own!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace that You shower over my life everyday. I love you. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
