Joy

I watched the sunrise the other day and it was beautiful. The trees out in front of my home were a silhouette, so they were still dark as the sun was rising on the horizon. As the sun continued to rise up, it began to shed light on the trees. And as this was all happening, this verse came to mind – Psalm 30:5 For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning (ESV).

God loves to show us His mercy. We get to experience the joy of the Lord. Jesus is the only person who can bring joy into our life even while we are experiencing a trial, and He gives it freely. We don’t have to be afraid of those long nights of tears, because we have Jesus inside of our hearts, we ultimately have the best gift of joy that we can possibly have.

Sometimes, I will have to push the restart button because I have allowed the enemy to still my joy. I have spent many nights in praying in tears, but with Jesus in my heart, He has always been good to shine His light upon the dark moments of it all and bring this unexplainable joy into my life. I do not have to wait until it is the happiest time of my life to experience joy, I can experience joy through the storm. Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people." Jesus causes great joy!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your joy! I pray that Your joy will be evident in my life, even through trials. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
